Latest techniques for optimal conditions

The Biology Faculty at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main continues its plant research in a specially designed greenhouse (designed by Königs Architects, Cologne). EdenParks applied the latest techniques at Campus Riedberg, thereby responding to the faculty's wishes: to create optimal growing conditions for the plants.

Greenhouse with unusual shapes

The greenhouse has a surface area of 1,400 m². It consists of three arches, each of a different size. The highest point is 11 metres and the greenhouse is 45 metres long. In addition to research, this unusually shaped greenhouse is also used for cultivation, care and entertainment of the students.

With state-of-the-art climate and energy systems, any desired climate can be created in each individual room. The right combination of glass, film and coatings results in the best insulation value for glass and an optimal growing climate. This is essential for the plant research conducted by the Faculty of Biology, as it creates the most optimal growing conditions. EdenParks naturally works with top-quality glass and profiles, ensuring that the greenhouse is well insulated.

Expert in botanical greenhouses

Thanks to our expertise, we have also built greenhouses for Keukenhof, Hortus Botanicus in Leiden, Inverewe and RHS Wisley, in addition to this well-known botanical garden. We are currently constructing a very special greenhouse for the botanical garden in Gothenburg. These are often special constructions that, in addition to their striking design, also require specific climate control for the rare plant collections.
