WUR reception building
Smiemans Projecten is constructing a prestigious reception building on behalf of Wageningen University & Research (WUR). EdenParks was involved at an early stage: we worked together in a construction team to further develop the conceptual design by architect Van Bergen Kolpa Architecten into a practical, feasible and future-proof structure.

Technical Development & Advice
Our role consisted of providing in-depth advice on climate control, façade technology and energy solutions. EdenParks translates vision into reality: we made the architectural design feasible on a technical level, while paying close attention to detail, sustainability and constructability.
Sustainability & Energy Efficiency
The reception building, covering more than 3,120 m², is energy efficient thanks to a combination of solar panels, a heat pump and geothermal energy (heat and cold storage). Our advisory contribution ensured that the building is sustainable, future-oriented and environmentally conscious.
Architecture and Functionality
The prominent glass façade not only provides a visual connection to the campus, but also supports optimal light incidence and a pleasant indoor climate. Flexible work and meeting spaces make the building both representative and functional.

The research centre will be constructed on a turnkey basis by the main contractor, Bom Group. The total project covers a surface area of more than 8,700 m².
