The international knowledge and innovation centre for greenhouse horticulture

The World Horti Centre is the international knowledge and innovation centre for greenhouse horticulture. It is the place where business, education and research collaborate to develop even better products for greenhouse horticulture.

Two floors

The building has a floor area of 4,520 m² and a ridge height of 12.30 metres. This is high enough for two floors with shared facilities for approximately 300 guests, such as an auditorium, meeting rooms, flexible workspaces and a restaurant.

Royal opening

Smiemans (of which EdenParks is a part) started construction in March 2017. The glass structure was built on the substructure realised by Eekhout Bouw (also from Kwintsheul). Completion was in November 2017. On 7 March, the World Horti Centre was officially opened by none other than our own Queen Máxima.

Year-round horticultural exhibition

This project showcases Westland's leading global position in greenhouse horticulture 365 days a year. MBO Westland, GFFX and Demokwekerij Westland are working together on the vision and objectives of World Horti Center. Many leading companies present their products and expertise here.

Research greenhouses and a school have been built next to the building. In total, it has a floor area of 8,800 m².
