Jardin d'Hiverre nominated for 'The Roof of the year'
Our project Jardin d'Hiverre at Bomencentrum Nederland has been nominated for the award: Roof of the Year. The special form of the roof and the materials used in this progressive project have been noticed by the independent jury. It shows in a beautiful way the expertise of EdenParks, part of Smiemans Projecten.
The Victorian styled roof stood out because of the technically advanced roof construction. In addition to the special shape of the profiles, the combination of the materials used is also striking. Green tinted glass, steel coated profiles and wooden rafters made from Austrian pine for the support construction were used for this project.
The winning roof will receive the award ‘Roof of the Year’ during a festive evening on 23 March 2018. The prize is awarded to the roof that scores the highest in various assessment areas. The assessment areas are: aesthetic quality, innovation, functional quality, mutual cooperation, safe working and sustainability. An independent expert jury assesses the projects according to these criteria.
