Technically advanced project for Botanical Garden Flora (DE)
Once again EdenParks is allowed to build a special glass construction for a well-known botanical garden. After Inverewe, Hortus Botanicus Leiden and RHS Wisley, this time it is for Flora Cologne. The design by Königs Architecten has the same as their design for the Faculty of Biology at the University of Frankfurt. Only three of these arches now come together as a U-shape. In the highest arch (no less than 18 meters) there is room for a huge walkway. From here visitors can admire the exotic plants from a great height.
Botanical glass palace
In the botanical greenhouse with an area of 3,000 m2, a tropical and a desert climate are simulated. The technical high-quality project is realized with a minimum amount of steel, so that the light construction with no less than 4,500 m2 of insulated glass allows as much daylight as possible for the special collection of native plants.
